A horned owl with fierce round eyes perches on a bare, gnarled branch, drawn in bold black ink on white. The owl's body covers much of the pattern, and its scalloped feathers form dark and light patches that carry the modules. The finder squares show as square frames beside the bird, with the lower one partly tucked behind the wing. Heavy black fills against clean white keep the pattern crisp, while thin twigs reach outward without cutting into the code.
