Black brush calligraphy characters and ropelike swirls of dark brown ink drift across an off-white ground. Three taupe square frames each hold one bold character, which disguises the finder squares, while the twisting strokes and small flame-like flecks carry the modules. Heavy dark ink against the pale paper gives strong contrast, and the loose, scattered strokes leave plenty of open space between clusters. Each stroke shows tapered brush ends and visible bristle streaks.
